Al Qasas (Prophetic Stories)

(Surah No. 28)

Ayat 1-88

28:1

Ta, Seen, Meem (1).

These are Arabic letters in the Glorious Qur’an. Only Allah (SWT) knows their meaning.

28:2

These are the verses of the clear Book (2).

These are Ayat from the Glorious Qur’an.

28:3

We recite to you from the news of Moses and Pharaoh in truth for people who believe (3).

We (SWT) recite to you Oh Muhammad (SAAS) [From the Glorious Qur’an] the news of Prophet Mousa & the Egyptian Pharaoh in Solemn Truth for people who are believers.

28:4

Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people into factions, oppressing a sector among them, slaughtering their [newborn] sons and keeping their females alive. Indeed, he was of the corrupters (4).

Verily, the Egyptian Pharaoh elevated himself in Egypt, dividing its people into various factions & sects, oppressing the people, slaughtering their babies, subjugating their males & sexually assaulting their females. Truly, he was a corrupt leader. 28:5

And We want to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors (5).

And We (SWT) desire to deliver favor upon those who were oppressed in the land of Egypt giving them leadership & making them inheritors.

28:6

And establish them in the land and show Pharaoh and [his minister] Haman and their soldiers through them that which they had feared (6).

And exhibit & reveal their capability in the land of Egypt, thus showing the Egyptian Pharaoh, his Associate Haman & their Army what they had been frightened from.

28:7

And We inspired to the mother of Moses, “Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We will return him to you and will make him [one] of the messengers”(7).

And We (SWT) enthusiastically spirited Prophet Mousa’s mother to breast feed him; however, if you fear that the Pharaoh would seis him, cast him into the River Nile boxed inside a wooden tomb, not fearing or grieving about him. We (SWT) shall return him to you, making him one of Our Messengers.

28:8

And the family of Pharaoh picked him up [out of the river] so that he would become to them an enemy and a [cause of] grief. Indeed, Pharaoh and Haman and their soldiers were deliberate sinners (8).

And thus Pharaoh & his family collected the Mousa tomb from the River Nile, only to become their enemy and a source of sorrow & grief. Truly, Pharaoh, Haman & their soldiers were true transgressors.

28:9

And the wife of Pharaoh said, “[He will be] a comfort of the eye for me and for you. Do not kill him; perhaps he may benefit us, or we may adopt him as a son.” And they perceived not (9).

And the wife of the Pharaoh said, “Prophet Mousa shall be a pleasure & a console of the eye for me and for you. Therefore, do not kill him”.

28:10

And the heart of Moses’ mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers (10).

And the heart of Prophet Mousa’s mother became void. She was about to reveal her sadness, had We (SWT) not steadfast her heart to become one of the believers.

28:11

And she said to his sister, “Follow him”; so, she watched him from a distance while they perceived not (11).

And Prophet Mousa’s mother told his sister. “Follow his trail”; thus, she observed him at a distance, without the Pharaoh enemy noticing. 28:12

And We had prevented from him [all] wet nurses before, so she said, “Shall I direct you to a household that will be responsible for him for you while they are to him [for his upbringing] sincere?”(12).

And We (SWT) hindered Prophet Mousa from all breast feeding previously, thus his sister said, “Do you want me to direct you to a household who will take care of him, advising & educating him?”

28:13

So, We restored him to his mother that she might be content and not grieve and that she would know that the promise of Allah is true. But most of the people do not know (13).

Thus, We (SWT) brought him back to his mother, for her to be satisfied and not mourn Prophet Mousa. Believing that the Promise of Allah (SWT) is true and factual. However, most humankind are unaware.

28:14

And when he attained his full strength and was [mentally] mature, We bestowed upon him judgement and knowledge. And thus, do We reward the doers of good (14).

And upon reaching maturity & masculine strength, We (SWT) Provided Prophet Mousa with judgment & knowledge. And hence We (SWT) reward the righteous of Our Believers.

28:15

And he entered the city at a time of inattention by its people and found therein two men fighting: one from his faction and one from among his enemy. And the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him. [Moses] said, “This is from the work of Satan. Indeed, he is a manifest, misleading enemy.”

And upon entering an Egyptian city, at a time when its residents were busy with their business, Prophet Mousa encountered two men fighting each other. One from the Israelites (His Faction) while the other, A Coptic enemy. The Israelite cried for help from Prophet Mousa. Therefore, He struck the Coptic enemy with his cane, unintentionally killing him. Prophet Mousa, “This from the work of Al Shytan. Truly, he is a real obvious enemy.

28:16

He said, “My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me,” and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful (16).

Prophet Mousa Supplicated to Allah (SWT), truly I have unjustly treated myself, hence forgive me. Verily, He (SWT) is the Forgiving, the Merciful.

28:17

He said, “My Lord, for the favor You bestowed upon me, I will never be an assistant to the criminals”(17).

Prophet Mousa Supplicated to Allah (SWT) Oh Allah (SWT), truly I have unjustly treated myself, thus I shall never aid criminals.

28:18

And he entered inside the city fearful and anticipating [exposure], when [once again]. Moses said to him, “Indeed, you are an evident, [persistent] deviator” (18).

Upon entering the city with anticipation & fearing exposure, Prophet Mousa suddenly encountered the Israelite who requested his help against their Coptic enemy the previous day. Prophet Mousa reprimanded the Israelite saying, “Verily, you are a distinct persevering departing deviator”.

28:19

And when he wanted to strike the one who was an enemy to both, he said, “O Moses, do you intend to kill me as you killed someone yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land and do not want to be of the amenders”(19).

And once Prophet Mousa aimed to attack the Coptic enemy to both Prophet Mousa & the Israelite, “the Coptic enemy said to Prophet Mousa do you desire to kill me like you struck & killed a Coptic yesterday? “It seems you want to be an absolute oppressor & not a reformer”.

28:20

And a man came from the farthest end of the city, running. He said, “O Moses, indeed the eminent ones are conferring over you [intending] to kill you, so leave [the city]; indeed, I am to you of the sincere advisors”(20).

And a man came running from the farthermost part of the city. He called upon Prophet Mousa, verily the renowned & famed are conspiring to kill you, thus evict the city. Truly, I am to you an honest advisor.

28:21

So he left it, fearful and anticipating [apprehension]. He said, “My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people”(21).

Prophet Mousa thus left the city apprehensively. He supplicated to Allah (SWT), To Save him from the offenders & transgressors. 28:22

And when he directed himself toward Madyan, he said, “Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the sound way”(22).

And upon directing himself towards the Tribe of Madyan, Prophet Mousa said, maybe Allah (SWT) Will Guide me to the Correct Path.

28:23

And when he came to the well of Madyan, he found there a crowd of people watering [their flocks], and he found aside from them two women driving back [their flocks]. He said, “What is your circumstance?” They said, “We do not water until the shepherds dispatch [their flocks]; and our father is an old man”(23).

And upon arriving at the water wells of Madyan, Prophet Mousa encountered a mass of people watering their herds. He also spotted two women steering their flock back from the water wells. He enquired about their situation. They replied,” We will not water our herd until the shepherds finish watering their flocks”; & our father is an elderly man.

28:24

So, he watered [their flocks] for them; then he went back to the shade and said, “My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need”(24).

Thus, Prophet Mousa helped the two-woman water their flock, he then retreated to the shade, supplicating to Allah (SWT),” Oh Allah (SWT) Truly, for whatever You Bestow upon me, I am in need”.

28:25

Then one of the two women came to him walking with shyness. She said, “Indeed, my father invites you so that he may reward you for having watered for us.” So when he came to him and related to him the story, he said, “Fear not. You have escaped from the wrongdoing people”(25).

And hence one of them approached Prophet Mousa walking towards him with shyness. She said, “verily, my father invites you in order to reward you for performing the watering of our flock”. Hence upon meeting their father, and explaining his situation to the two women’s father, he responded to Prophet Mousa,” Have no fear, you have avoided the aberrant & unjust people.

28:26

One of the women said, “O my father, hire him. Indeed, the best one you can hire is the strong and the trustworthy”(26).

One of the two sisters said to their father, “Oh father, appoint Prophet Mousa, truly he is the best, strongest & the most trustful.

28:27

He said, “Indeed, I wish to wed you one of these, my two daughters, on [the condition] that you serve me for eight years; but if you complete ten, it will be [as a favor] from you. And I do not wish to put you in difficulty. You will find me, if Allah wills, from among the righteous”(27).

The father of the two daughters said to Prophet Mousa, “Actually, I want you to marry one of my two daughters on the pretense that you serve me for eight years. However, if you choose ten years, then that is a favor from you Prophet Mousa.

28:28

[Moses] said, “That is [established] between me and you. Whichever of the two terms I complete – there is no injustice to me, and Allah, over what we say, is Witness”(28).

Prophet Mousa said to the two daughters’ father, “that is an issue between you & I”. Whichever of the periods of time I accomplish, there is no harm done on my behalf, & Allah (SWT) is the Witness of our conversation.

28:29

And when Moses had completed the term and was traveling with his family, he perceived from the direction of a mount a fire. He said to his family, “Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire. Perhaps I will bring you some information or burning wood from the fire so that you may warm yourselves”(29).

And upon Prophet Mousa completed the agreed maximum term with the two daughters’ father, he travelled with his family, spotting from the direction of the mount a fire. He said, “remain here”, Maybe I will bring you some news, or fetch for you from the fire burning wood to keep you warm.

28:30

But when he came to it, he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot – from the tree, “O Moses, indeed I am Allah, Lord of the world” (30).

However, when Prophet Mousa arrived to it, he was Summoned from the “Right side of the valley in a precious spot of the tree, Oh Prophet Mousa, Verily, I (SWT) Am Allah, Creator of the Worlds”.

28:31

And [he was told], “Throw down your staff.” But when he saw it writhing as if it was a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. Allah said,”O Moses, approach and fear not. Indeed, you are secure”.

Allah (SWT) Commanded Prophet Mousa to “Throw your staff (cane)” on to the ground. However, upon noticing the cane transforming into a snake, Prophet Mousa turned away in fear & did not return. Allah (SWT) Ordered Prophet Mousa to approach the snake without fearing it. Surely, you Prophet Mousa are secure with Allah (SWT)’s Command.

28:32

Insert your hand into the opening of your garment; it will come out white, without disease. And draw in your arm close to you [as prevention] from fear, for those are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his establishment. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient people” (32).

Allah (SWT) further Commanded Prophet Mousa to, “Enter his (dark complexion) hand into his garment, for it to come out ‘white’ free of ailment or disease. Furthermore, draw your arm adjoining to yourself close to you as prevention from fear. Those are two evidences from Allah (SWT) to the Pharaoh of Egypt & his bureaucracy. Truly, they are defiant, disobedient people.

28:33

He said, “My Lord, indeed, I killed from among them someone, and I fear they will kill me (33).

Prophet Mousa supplicated to Allah (SWT), Oh Allah (SWT) actually, I have killed from amongst the Pharaoh establishment the Coptic person, I thus fear that they will conspire to kill me.

28:34

And my brother Aaron is more fluent than me in tongue, so send him with me as support, verifying me. Indeed, I fear that they will deny me”(34).

And Oh Allah (SWT) Dispatch my brother Haroun who is more conversant & proficient than I, to verify me & support me in my conversation with the Pharaoh establishment, since I am suspicious that they will deny my action.

28:35

Allah said, “We will strengthen your arm through your brother and grant you both supremacy so they will not reach you. [It will be] through Our signs; you and those who follow you will be the predominant”(35).

Allah (SWT) Commanded Prophet Mousa, “We (SWT) shall & will Strengthen your arms & hands via your brother Haroun, granting both of you superiority & domination so that the Pharaoh establishment will not be able to reach you both. With the Command & Grace of Allah (SWT) you both shall be supreme.

28:36

But when Moses came to them with Our signs as clear evidence, they said, “This is not except invented magic, and we have not heard of this [religion] among our forefathers”(36)

However, upon Prophet Mousa arriving to the blasphemous disbelievers with the Ayat of Allah (SWT) as Obvious Evidence, the disbelievers ‘sarcastically’ responded, “this is nothing but invented magic”, & we have not heard of it from our forefathers or our predecessors.

28:37

And Moses said, “My Lord knows more than we or you] of who has come with guidance from Him and to whom will be succession in the home. Indeed, wrongdoers fail”(37).

And Prophet Mousa Declared, “Allah (SWT) is knowledgeable of whom of us has come with Guidance from Him (SWT) and to whom will be the Inheritance of the Hereafter. Truly, He (SWT) shall not make unjust & transgressing humankind achieve.

28:38

And Pharaoh said, “O eminent ones, I have not known you to have a god other than me. Then ignite for me, O Haman, [a fire] upon the clay and make for me a tower that I may look at the God of Moses. And indeed, I do think he is among the liars”(38).

And the Egyptian Pharaoh called upon the prominent & distinguished Egyptians, saying,” Oh eminent people, there is no deity other than myself. Then ignite for me Oh Haman, ‘a fire over the clay’ thus building a tower for me that I may ‘Observe the God of Mousa’. I truly believe he is a deceiver & a fabricator.

28:39

And he was arrogant, he and his soldiers, in the land, without right, and they thought that they would not be returned to Us (39).

And the Egyptian Pharaoh & his soldiers were conceited & arrogant in the land of Egypt without lawful prerogative, believing that they would not be returning as humankind to Allah (SWT) in the hereafter.

 28:40

So We took him and his soldiers and threw them into the sea. So see how the end of the wrongdoers was (40).

Hence, We (SWT) collected Pharaoh & his soldiers & cast them into the sea. Therefore, Oh Muhammad (SAAS), observe the fate of those unjust & aberrant who disbelieved in Allah (SWT).

28:41

And We made them leaders inviting to the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection they will not be helped (41).

And We (SWT) converted the blasphemous disbelievers into chiefs & commanders, inviting humankind to the Hellfire & on Resurrection Day they shall & will not be victorious.

 28:42

And We caused to overtake them in this world a curse, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be of the despised (42).

And We (SWT) followed them in this worldly lifetime with a damnation & a curse, & on Judgement Day they shall be amongst the despised & degraded.

28:43

And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded (43).

And We (SWT) Delivered to Prophet Mousa the Torah after We (SWT) obliterated the previous generations as awareness & illumination for humankind & guidance with mercy that they might be reminded.

28:44

And you, [O Muhammad], were not on the western side [of the mount] when We revealed to Moses the command, and you were not among the witnesses [to that] (44).

And Oh Muhammad (SAAS), you were not on the western side of Mount Saini when We (SWT) Revealed to Prophet Mousa the Command and you Prophet of Islam were not amongst the witnesses to this act.

28:45

But We produced [many] generations [after Moses], and prolonged was their duration. And you were not a resident among the people of Madyan, reciting to them Our verses, but We were senders [of this message] (45).

And We (SWT) Generated numerous offspring after Prophet Mousa, with prolonging their age. And you Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) were not amidst the people of Madyan, reciting to them verses from the Glorious Qur’an, however, We (SWT) were deliverers of the Message of Islam.

28:46

And you were not at the side of the mount when We called [Moses] but [were sent] as a mercy from your Lord to warn a people to whom no warner had come before you that they might be reminded (46).

And you Oh Muhammad (SAAS) were not present at the side of Mount Saini when We (SWT) Called upon Prophet Mousa, however, you were delivered Oh Prophet of Islam to warn a people to whom no admonition or warning had come before you that they might be reminded.

28:47

And if not, a disaster should strike them for what their hands put forth [of sins] and they would say, “Our Lord, why did You not send us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses and been among the believers?”(47).

And except for a disaster striking them for what their hands had perpetrated in sins & transgressions, they would say, “Oh Allah (SWT) had you delivered us a messenger Muhammad (SAAS) for us to follow Your Ayat [In the Glorious Qur’an] & thus become Muslim Believers.

28:48

But when the truth came to them from Us, they said, “Why was he not given like that which was given to Moses?” Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Moses before? They said, “[They are but] two works of magic supporting each other, and indeed we are, in both, disbelievers”(48).

However, upon reality arriving to them from Allah (SWT), they questioned, “why Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) was not designated like that which was revealed to Prophet Mousa. Did they not suspect & mistrust in the Taura of Prophet Mousa previously? The blasphemous disbelievers of Makkah said “We are evidently suspicious of Prophet Mousa & the Taura as we are suspicious of Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) & the Glorious Qur’an. Both “Revelations” are but works of magic & we are in both disbelievers.

 28:49

Say, “Then bring a scripture from Allah which is more guiding than either of them that I may follow it, if you should be truthful”(49).

Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS),” Hence come up with a Revelation from Allah (SWT) which is more guiding from the Taura & the Glorious Qur’an if you are truthful”.

28:50

But if they do not respond to you – then know that they only follow their [own] desires. And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people (50).

However, if the blasphemous disbelievers have no response to you Oh Muhammad (SAAS), then realize that they are following their personal desires. And who is into more error than he who follows his personal desires. Evidently, Allah (SWT) leaves astray humankind who seek their personal interest & are unjust transgressors.

 28:51

And We have [repeatedly] conveyed to them the Qur’an that they might be reminded (51).

And We (SWT) repetitively delivered the Glorious Qur’an that they might be exhilarated & reminded.

28:52

Those to whom We gave the Scripture before it – they are believers in it (52).

To the humankind whom We (SWT) delivered the Taura, are believers in the Glorious Qur’an such as Abdullah Bin Salam as well as many other Israelites.

28:53

And when it is recited to them, they say, “We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed, we were, [even] before it, Muslims [submitting to Allah]“(53).

And upon the Glorious Qur’an is recited to them, the Israelites shall say,” we have believed in the Muslim Qur’an, truly it is the ultimate truth from Allah (SWT). Indeed, before its revelation, we were practicing Muslims submitting to Allah (SWT). Being informed of the final Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) through the Taura & the Injeel.

 28:54

Those will be given their reward twice for what they patiently endured and [because] they avert evil through good, and from what We have provided them they spend (54).

According to Muhammad (SAAS), three types of people shall be given their reward twice: 1) a man/woman from the people of the Book who believed in the first & last Revelation from Allah (SWT). 2) A man whose woman servant was disciplined by him then freed for him to be married to. 3) Those who bypass & evade evil through good action. 4) Spending from what Allah (SWT) provided them with.

28:55

And when they hear ill speech, they turn away from it and say, “For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. Peace will be upon you; we seek not the ignorant”(55).

And upon hearing bad talk, they back off & say, “For us are our perpetrated, deeds & for you are yours”. Peace be upon you; we do not seek those unaware & ignorant.

 28:56

Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided (56).

Evidently, Oh Muhammad (SAAS), you do not possess the ability of guiding humankind. However, Allah (SWT) Guides whom He Wills. And He is the Most Knowledgeable of the Rightly Guided.

28:57

And they say, “If we were to follow the guidance with you, we would be swept from our land.” Have we not established for them a safe sanctuary to which are brought the fruits of all things as provision from Us? But most of them do not know (57).

And they said, Oh Muhammad (SAAS) if we were to follow the Glorious Qur’an along your side, we would be swept from our land by the Nomadic Arabs surrounding Makkah. We (SWT) have created for them a secure sanctuary to which all kinds of food provisions are made available through Our Grace & Mercy. However, most of them are unaware, because of their illiteracy & due to their negligence & inattention of the hereafter.

28:58

And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors (58).

And how many villages & towns have We (SWT) destroyed due to its insolence & arrogance. And those Oh Muhammad (SAAS) are their dwellings uninhabited after they deserted them except for few inhabitants. And We (SWT) were the Inheritors.

28:59

And never would your Lord have destroyed the cities until He had sent to their mother a messenger reciting to them Our verses. And We would not destroy the cities except while their people were wrongdoers (59).

And Oh Muhammad (SAAS), Allah (SWT) would not have destroyed the towns & villages until He (SWT) had delivered a Messenger to Makkah reciting the Ayat of the Glorious Qur’an to it & to the surrounding villages of nomadic Arabs. And He (SWT) with His Mercy & Grace would not eliminate towns & villages while their inhabitants were unjust & oppressive.

28:60

And whatever thing you [people] have been given – it is [only for] the enjoyment of world life and its adornment. And what is with Allah is better and more lasting; so, will you not use reason? (60).

And whatever humankind has been bestowed by Allah (SWT) is exclusively for the world lifetime & its adornment. And whatever is with Allah (SWT)’s treasures & fortunes are ever more lasting. Have you no reasoning?

28:61

Then is he whom We have promised a good promise which he will obtain like he for whom We provided enjoyment of worldly life [but] then he is, on the Day of Resurrection, among those presented [for punishment in Hell]? (61).

And so is he/she whom We (SWT) have promised a descent commitment which he/she will receive like he/she whom We (SWT) provided pleasure & delight of worldly lifetime. However, then he/she is on the Day of Resurrection in the Hereafter amongst those offered for punishment in the Hellfire.

28:62

And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, “Where are My ‘partners’ which you used to claim?”(62).

And on the Day of Resurrection in the Hereafter, Allah (SWT) Shall Summon humankind questioning them,” Where are my partners whom you used to claim & declare?”.

 28:63

Those upon whom the word will have come into effect will say, “Our Lord, these are the ones we led to error. We led them to error just as we were in error. We declare our disassociation [from them] to You. They did not used to worship us” (63).

To those whom the word of Truth has arrived shall say, Oh Allah (SWT) those are the people whom we led into error like our situation. We hence declare to You (SWT) our non-corporation from them. They did not worship us but rather other deities.

28:64

And it will be said, “Invoke your ‘partners’ ” and they will invoke them; but they will not respond to them, and they will see the punishment. If only they had followed guidance!(64).

And it shall be said to them “Call your partners” and so they were called; however, no response emanated from them, and they shall observe their punishment & retribution. Had they only followed Guidance to Islam.

28:65

And [mention] the Day He will call them and say, “What did you answer the messengers?”(65).

And mention Oh Muhammad (SAAS) the Day Allah (SWT) will Call humankind, asking them, “What was your response on Judgment Day to the Messengers?

28:66

But the information will be unapparent to them that Day, so they will not [be able to] ask one another (66).

However, the information on Judgment Day shall not be apparent to them, hence they will not ask each other.

28:67

But as for one who repented, believed, and done righteousness, it is promised by Allah that he will be among the successful (67).

As for those who were remorseful, were believers & righteous, Allah (SWT) Has Pledged that they shall be amongst the triumphant in the Hereafter.

28:68

And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allah and high above what they associate with Him (68).

And Oh Muhammad (SAAS), It is Allah (SWT) Who Creates What He Wills & Selects from humankind what He (SWT) Wills. Glorified & Honored is He, above what the blasphemous disbelievers associate with Him (SWT).

28:69

And your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare (69).

And Oh Muhammad (SAAS), Allah (SWT) is fully aware of what their chests hide & what they announce & assert.

28:70

And He is Allah; there is no deity except Him. To Him is [due all] praise in the first [life] and the Hereafter. And His is the [final] decision, and to Him you will be returned (70).

And He is Allah (SWT), with no competitive deity except Him (SWT). To Him belongs all Praise of the First Creation of Humankind & the Advent of the Hereafter. And He (SWT) Has the ultimate decision of Judgment Day, and All Creation shall be returned to Him (SWT).

 28:71

Say, “Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the night continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you light? Then will you not hear?”

Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS)” Have you noticed: if Allah (SWT) were to produce the ‘night’ continuously (without daylight) until the Hereafter, what deity or idol other than Allah (SWT) would present humankind with daylight? Thus, will they not comprehend or discern?”.

 28:72

Say, “Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the day continuous until the Day of Resurrection, what deity other than Allah could bring you a night in which you may rest? Then will you not, see?” (72).

Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS)” Have you noticed: if Allah (SWT) were to produce the ‘day’ continuously (without night) until the Hereafter, what deity or idol apart from Allah (SWT) would bring humankind night in which they may rest?” Hence will you not observe?”

28:73

And out of His mercy He made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and [by day] seek from His bounty and [that] perhaps you will be grateful (73).

And due to His Mercy, He (SWT) Created for humankind night & day thus they may during night & seek from His Bounty (SWT) that maybe humankind would be grateful & thankful.

28:74

And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, “Where are my ‘partners’ which you used to claim?”(74).

And on the Day of Resurrection, when Allah (SWT) shall Call the blasphemous disbelievers, Saying, “Where are my partners whom you Claim?

28:75

And We will extract from every nation a witness and say, “Produce your proof,” and they will know that the truth belongs to Allah, and lost from them is that which they used to invent (75).

And We (SWT) remove & strip from every human nation a witness saying, “Come up with your proof”, & they will realize that the truth belongs to Allah (SWT) and lost from them is deception & aberrance.

28:76

Indeed, Qarun was from the people of Moses, but he tyrannized them. And We gave him of treasures whose keys would burden a band of strong men; thereupon his people said to him, “Do not exult. Indeed, Allah does not like the exultant (76).

Truly, Qarun was from Prophet Mousa’s people. However, he oppressed them. And We (SWT) granted him treasures the keys of which would overburden a team of strong men; his people responded, “Do not jubilate, SWT does not appreciate the exultant.

28:77

But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters”(77).

However, demand that which Allah (SWT) Has Bestowed upon you, the residence of the Hereafter; not forgetting your portion of worldly life. And perpetrate righteousness as SWT has done good deeds to you. Furthermore, do not seek corruption on the earth. Truely, SWT does not appreciate corrupting humankind.

28:78

He said, “I was only given it because of knowledge I have.” Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked (78).

Qarun replied, “Actually, I was granted it due to knowledge & comprehension I possessed”. Did Qarun not comprehend that Allah (SWT) had eliminated generations before him, greater in power & wealthier in resources? However, the criminals will not be interrogated regarding the sins they committed.

  28:79

So, he came out before his people in his adornment. Those who desired worldly life said, “Oh, would that we have like what was given to Qarun. Indeed, he is one of great fortune”(79).

Thence, Qarun exposed himself to his people with his decoration & ornaments. Thus, those who were longing for worldly life said,” Oh we wish we had been given like the adornments Qarun. Truly, he is of great fortune.

28:80

But those who had been given knowledge said, “Woe to you! The reward of Allah is better for he who believes and does righteousness. And no one is granted it except the patient”(80).

However, those who had been granted knowledge said, “Misery upon you! The reward of Allah (SWT) is greater for those who are believers & perform righteously. And no humankind is gifted with it except those who are patient & resilient.

28:81

And We caused the earth to swallow him and his home. And there was for him no company to aid him other than Allah, nor was he of those who [could] defend themselves (81).

And We (SWT) caused the earth to subside with him & his home. And he had no group or team to aid him other than Allah (SWT) & he was not amongst the victorious.

28:82

And those who had wished for his position the previous day began to say, “Oh, how Allah extend provision to whom He wills of His servants and restricts it! If not that Allah had conferred favor on us, He would have caused it to swallow us. Oh, how the disbelievers fail”(82).

And those who had wished for Qarun’s position the previous day say,” Oh, Allah (SWT) delivers provision to whom He (SWT) Wills of His creation & restricts it! Had He (SWT) Granted humankind favoritism, He (SWT) would have subsided the earth upon us. Truly & surely the blasphemous disbelievers cease to function & fail.

28:83

That home of the Hereafter We assign to those who do not desire exaltedness upon the earth or corruption. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous (83).

Allah (SWT) Has Assigned the Hereafter for those Muslims who do not seek exaltedness & supremacy upon the earth nor corruption. And the Ultimate Outcome on Judgment Day is for the Righteous Muslims who have perpetrated good & descent acts in their worldly lifetime.

28:84

Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it; and whoever comes with an evil deed – then those who did evil deeds will not be recompensed except [as much as] what they used to do (84).

Whoever, from humankind comes to Allah (SWT) on Judgment Day with good deeds shall be Granted better than them. Conversely, whoever comes to Him (SWT) with evil deeds shall not be remunerated except as much as they perpetrated in their worldly lifetime.

28:85

Indeed, [O Muhammad], He who imposed upon you the Qur’an will take you back to a place of return. Say, “My Lord is most knowing of who brings guidance and who is in clear error”(85).

Truly, Oh Muhammad (SAAS), He (SWT) Who has enjoined & decreed upon you the Glorious Qur’an shall return you back to rendezvous. Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS), Allah (SWT) is most knowledgeable of who has brought guidance and who is in obvious error.

28:86

And you were not expecting that the Book would be conveyed to you, but [it is] a mercy from your Lord. So do not be an assistant to the disbelievers (86).

And you Muhammad (SAAS) were unaware that the Glorious Qur’an would be revealed to you. However, it is a Mercy from Allah (SWT). Hence do not aid or help the blasphemous disbelievers.

28:87

And never let them avert you from the verses of Allah after they have been revealed to you. And invite [people] to your Lord. And never be of those who associate others with Allah (87).

And h Muhammad (SAAS) never let the blasphemous disbelievers avoid & evade you from the verses of the Glorious Qur’an after its revelation to you. And invite humankind to Islam & Recitation of the Qur’an & do not ever associate any deity or God with Allah (SWT).

28:88

And do not invoke with Allah another deity. There is no deity except Him. Everything will be destroyed except His Face. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be returned (88).

And Oh, Prophet of Islam Muhammad (SAAS), do not implore any deity other than Him (SWT). All Creation on Judgment Day shall be eliminated except His Face (SWT). To Him (SWT) is Final Judgment & to Him (SWT) all Humankind shall & will be Returned.
