Surat Saba’
(Surah No. 34)
Ayat 1-34
[All] praise is [due] to Allah , to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and to Him belongs [all] praise in the Hereafter. And He is the Wise, the Acquainted (1).7
All Praise Is Due to Allah (SWT) t0 whom the procession of the heavens & the earth belong. And To Allah (SWT) Belongs All Praise for Creating humankind & all other creation. And to Him (SWT) Belongs all Praise & Commendation for His Uniqueness, Completeness, Distinction & Singularity in the Hereafter. And He (SWT) Is The Prudent & Expert in His Creation.
He knows what penetrates into the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein. And He is the Merciful, the Forgiving (2).
Allah (SWT) Is Fully Aware of what Infiltrates into the Earth & what Emanates from it. He (SWT) Furthermore, Is Knowledgeable of what escalates therein. And Allah (SWT) Is The Merciful & Forgiving.
But those who disbelieve say, “The Hour will not come to us.” Say, “Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you. [ Allah is] the Knower of the unseen.” Not absent from Him is an atom’s weight within the heavens or within the earth or [what is] smaller than that or greater, except that it is in a clear register (3)-
However, the blasphemous disbelievers, say,” the Hereafter will not happen & arrive to us. Say Oh, Muhammad (SAAS), Yes By Allah (SWT) It Shall definitely come to you. Allah (SWT) Is The Knowledgeable of the Invisible & of the Unseen. Not Missing from Him (SWT) is an atom’s weight within the heavens or within the earth or [what is] smaller than that or greater, except that it is in a clear register.
That He may reward those who believe and do righteous deeds. Those will have forgiveness and noble provision (4).
Allah (SWT) Shall Recompense those Muslims who Believe in Him (SWT) & the Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) & Who have perpetrated Righteous Deeds. Those Believers Will Receive Forgiveness & Honorable Provision.
But those who strive against Our verses [seeking] to cause failure – for them will be a painful punishment of foul nature (5).
However, those who seek against the Ayat of Allah (SWT) striving to cause failure, for them shall be torment of evil nature.
And those who have been given knowledge see that what is revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, and it guides to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy (6).
And those who have been bestowed with knowledge notice that what is revealed to you oh, Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) from Allah (SWT) is the Truth, Guiding to the Path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy.
But those who disbelieve say, “Shall we direct you to a man who will inform you [that] when you have disintegrated in complete disintegration, you will [then] be [recreated] in a new creation? (7).
However, the blasphemous disbelievers say, “Would we direct your attention to a man who will inform you when you have been disintegrated into a complete disintegration, you shall then be “recreated” into a “new creation” ?
Has he invented about Allah a lie or is there in him madness?” Rather, they who do not believe in the Hereafter will be in the punishment and [are in] extreme error (8).
The blasphemous disbelievers would say about Muhammad (SAAS),”Has he invented a lie about Allah (SWT) or is he “Insane” [referring to Prophet Muhammad]. Actually, those who have no belief in the Hereafter shall undergo severe chastisement due to their committing extreme mistakes.
Then, do they not look at what is before them and what is behind them of the heaven and earth? If We should, We could cause the earth to swallow them or [could] let fall upon them fragments from the sky. Indeed, in that is a sign for every servant turning back [to Allah ] (9).
Hence, do the blasphemous disbelievers not observe at what is before them & what is behind them of the heavens & earth? If We (SWT) should cause the earth to subside upon them or, We (SWT) Could Cause fragments from the sky to fall upon them. Truly, in that Is an Ayah for every humankind Reverting Back to Allah (SWT). [After remaining astray from Him (SWT)].
And We certainly gave David from Us bounty. [We said], “O mountains, repeat [Our] praises with him, and the birds [as well].” And We made pliable for him iron (10).
And We (SWT) Certainly Granted Prophet Dawood Bounty & Endowment, Commanding Him To Say, ”Oh mountains replicate, Allah (SWT)’s Praises with Prophet Dawood along with the birds, Making iron flexible & pliable.
[Commanding him], “Make full coats of mail and calculate [precisely] the links, and work [all of you] righteousness. Indeed I, of what you do, am Seeing” (11).
We (SWT) Commanded Prophet Dawood to manufacture full coats of mail & to precisely calculate the links. And work all of you together righteously. Truly & assuredly, I (SWT) am Observing of what you are perpetrating.
And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind – its morning [journey was that of] a month – and its afternoon [journey was that of] a month, and We made flow for him a spring of [liquid] copper. And among the jinn were those who worked for him with the permission of his Lord. And whoever deviated among them from Our command – We will make him taste of the punishment of the Blaze (12).
And to Prophet Sulaiman, We (SWT) Enforced the wind with its morning travel (that of a month) & its evening travel (that of a month). And We (SWT) converted for Prophet Sulaiman a “spring of liquid copper”. And amongst the jinn (invisible demons) were those who served him with Allah (SWT)’s Permission. And whosoever diverges from Our Command, We (SWT) Shall make him taste the penalty & retribution of the inferno.
They made for him what he willed of elevated chambers, statues, bowls like reservoirs, and stationary kettles. [We said], “Work, O family of David, in gratitude.” And few of My servants are grateful (13).
The jinn Commanded by Allah (SWT) constructed for Prophet Sulaiman, elevated chambers statues, bowls like reservoirs, and stationary kettles. We (SWT) Said, Oh family of Prophet Dawood “Work, in Gratitude.” And few of My servants are grateful.
And when We decreed for Solomon death, nothing indicated to the jinn his death except a creature of the earth eating his staff. But when he fell, it became clear to the jinn that if they had known the unseen, they would not have remained in humiliating punishment (14).
And Once We (SWT) Decreed death upon Prophet Sulaiman, nothing pointed out to the jinn Prophet Sulaiman’s death apart from an earth creature which ate at the Prophet’s cane. However, when Prophet Sulaiman fell to the ground, it was obvious to the jinn that if they were aware of the invisible, they would not have sustained an embarrassing penalty.
There was for [the tribe of] Saba’ in their dwelling place a sign: two [fields of] gardens on the right and on the left. [They were told], “Eat from the provisions of your Lord and be grateful to Him. A good land [have you], and a forgiving Lord.”(15).
There was for the Saba’ Tribe in their dwelling place a sign: two [fields of] gardens on the right and on the left. Allah (SWT) Commanded to, “Eat from the provisions (SWT) Provided & Be Thankful to Him (SWT). You possess a descent land & a Forgiving Lord.
But they turned away [refusing], so We sent upon them the flood of the dam, and We replaced their two [fields of] gardens with gardens of bitter fruit, tamarisks and something of sparse lote trees (16).
However, they turned their backs in refusal. Hence, We (SWT) Delivered onto them the dam flooding, Replacing two gardens with gardens producing bitter fruit, tamarisks & sparse lute trees.
[By] that We repaid them because they disbelieved. And do We [thus] repay except the ungrateful?
By that act We (SWT) Penalized them due to their disbelieve. And do We (SWT) recompense the repugnant.
And We placed between them and the cities which We had blessed [many] visible cities. And We determined between them the [distances of] journey, [saying], “Travel between them by night or day in safety.”
And We (SWT) situated between them & the villages which We (SWT) Had Blessed many visible villages determining between the journeying distance declaring, “Travel between these villages by night or day safely”.
But [insolently] they said, “Our Lord, lengthen the distance between our journeys,” and wronged themselves, so We made them narrations and dispersed them in total dispersion. Indeed, in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
But [insolently] they said, “Our Lord, lengthen the distance between our journeys,” and wronged themselves, so We made them narrations and dispersed them in total dispersion. Indeed, in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful (19).
However, in an insolent way they said,” Oh Allah (SWT) extend the distance between our journeys” & they were unjust to themselves, Hence We (SWT) made them into stories dispersing them into complete dispersion. Certainly, in that act are signs for patient & thankuful humankind.
And Iblees had already confirmed through them his assumption, so they followed him, except for a party of believers (20).
And Al Shaytan had already confirmed through them his assumption, so they followed him, except for a faction of Muslim Believers.
And he had over them no authority except [it was decreed] that We might make evident who believes in the Hereafter from who is thereof in doubt. And your Lord, over all things, is Guardian (21).
And Al Shaytan had no authority over them, apart from what was decreed by Allah (SWT) to discern the Muslim Believers in the Hereafter from those who were doubtful. And Oh, Muhammad (SAAS), Allah (SWT) is over all creation a Guardian & Trustee.
Say, [O Muhammad], “Invoke those you claim [as deities] besides Allah .” They do not possess an atom’s weight [of ability] in the heavens or on the earth, and they do not have therein any partnership [with Him], nor is there for Him from among them any assistant (22).
Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS), “implore those you assert as deities apart from Allah (SWT)”, They do not possess an atom’s weight [of ability] in the heavens or on the earth, and they do not have therein any partnership [with Him (SWT)], nor is there for Him (SWT) from amongst them any assistant.
And intercession does not benefit with Him except for one whom He permits. [And those wait] until, when terror is removed from their hearts, they will say [to one another], “What has your Lord said?” They will say, “The truth.” And He is the Most High, the Grand (23).
And arbitration or mediation is uacceptable with Him (SWT) except for whom He (SWT) Wills. And those mankind await until trepidation is discarded from their hearts, they shall say to each other, what has Allah (SWT) Said ?, “The Truth” & He (SWT) Is The Glorious & Supreme Authority.
Say, “Who provides for you from the heavens and the earth?” Say, ” Allah . And indeed, we or you are either upon guidance or in clear error”(24).
Say, Oh Muhammad (SAAS), “ Who sustains provisions for humankind from the heavens & the earth?” Respond, Oh Muhammad (SAAS), “ Allah (SWT), and truly, we or you are with Guidance or in Aberrance”.
Say, “You will not be asked about what we committed, and we will not be asked about what you do”(25).
Say, Oh Muhammad (SAAS), “You humankind shall not be asked about what we perpetrated, and we shall not be asked about what you committed.
Say, “Our Lord will bring us together; then He will judge between us in truth. And He is the Knowing Judge”(26).
Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS),” Allah (SWT) will gather us, then He (SWT) Shall Pass Judgment between us in truth. And Allah (SWT) Is the Knowledgeable Judge.
Say, “Show me those whom you have attached to Him as partners. No! Rather, He [alone] is Allah , the Exalted in Might, the Wise”(27).
Say, Oh Muhammad (SAAS), “Show me those humankind who have been selected as Partners to Allah (SWT). Absolutely not, He (SWT) is Exclusively the Exalted in Might & Wisdom.
And We have not sent you except comprehensively to mankind as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. But most of the people do not know (28).
And We (SWT) Have not delivered you Oh Muhammad (SAAS) except as a forerunner of glad tidings. However, most of humankind are unaware.
And they say, “When is this promise, if you should be truthful?”(29).
And the nonbelievers say, “When is this pledge to come about if you are truthful?”.
Say, “For you is the appointment of a Day [when] you will not remain there after an hour, nor will you precede [it]”(30).
Say, Oh Muhammad (SAAS), “ For you disbelievers is a rendezvous when you shall not remain there after an hour, nor will precede for an hour.
And those who disbelieve say, “We will never believe in this Qur’an nor in that before it.” But if you could see when the wrongdoers are made to stand before their Lord, refuting each other’s words… Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, “If not for you, we would have been believers”(31).
And those disbelievers would say, “we shall never believe in this Qur’an nor in that previous to it”. However, if you Oh Muhammad (SAAS) could see when the unjust & aberrant are made to stand before Allah (SWT) on Judgment Day disproving & invalidating each other’s speech. At that confrontation, The oppressed will say to the arr0gant, Had it not been for you, we would have been believers in Allah (SWT) & His final Messenger Muhammad (SAAS).
Those who were arrogant will say to those who were oppressed, “Did we avert you from guidance after it had come to you? Rather, you were criminals”(32).
Those who were arrogant said to those oppressed,” Did we prevent you from the Guidance of Allah (SWT) after it was Revealed to you? In fact you were all criminals.
Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, “Rather, [it was your] conspiracy of night and day when you were ordering us to disbelieve in Allah and attribute to Him equals.” But they will [all] confide regret when they see the punishment; and We will put shackles on the necks of those who disbelieved. Will they be rewarded except for what they used to do? (33).
The oppressed humankind shall say to those who were arrogant, actually, It was your scheme & deception during night & day when you were commanding us to disbelieve in Allah (SWT) & attribute deities equivalent to Him (SWT). However, all shall disclose the regret when they observe their chastisement & We (SWT) will place shackles around the necks of those who were blasphemous. Will they be rewarded despite of what they used to perpetrate?
And We did not send into a city any warner except that its affluent said, “Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers”(34).
And We (SWT) did not deliver into a village any warner such that its wealthy said, “truly we are disbelievers in that which you delivered”.
And they said, “We are more [than the believers] in wealth and children, and we are not to be punished”(35).
They furthermore said, “We disbelievers are more in count with wealth & children and shall not be chastised.
Say, “Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it], but most of the people do not know”(36).
Tell the disbelievers, Oh Muhammad (SAAS), “Indeed Allah (SWT) provides sustenance for whom He (SWT) Wishes, restricting it from whom He (SWT) Wills, but most of humankind are unaware”.
And it is not your wealth or your children that bring you nearer to Us in position, but it is [by being] one who has believed and done righteousness. For them there will be the double reward for what they did, and they will be in the upper chambers [of Paradise], safe [and secure] (37).
Allah (SWT) Directs His Command to the believers, “ It is not your wealth or your children that bring you closer to Us in position, But rather it is [by being] one who has believed and has performed righteousness deeds.
And the ones who strive against Our verses to cause [them] failure – those will be brought into the punishment [to remain] (38).
And those who endeavor against the Ayat of the Glorious Qur’an causing them to fail, those shall enter into punishment remaining therein.
Say, “Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts [it] for him. But whatever thing you spend [in His cause] – He will compensate it; and He is the best of providers”(39).
Tell the believers in Allah (SWT), in You & in the Glorious Qur’an, He (SWT) shall disseminate sustenance to whom He desires of humankind & restricts it from whoever He (SWT) Wills. However, whatever you spend in the Cause of Allah (SWT), He shall compensate it for He (SWT) is the best supplier.
And [mention] the Day when He will gather them all and then say to the angels, “Did these [people] used to worship you?”(40).
And Mention Oh Muhammad (SAAS) the Day when Allah (SWT) shall gather all humankind, the worshipper & deity, the arrogant & vulnerable, saying to the angels, “Did these humankind used to worship you ?
They will say, “Exalted are You! You, [O Allah ], are our benefactor not them. Rather, they used to worship the jinn; most of them were believers in them”(41).
They said, “Oh Allah (SWT) Honored & Glorified are You. You (SWT) are our Philanthropist rather than them. Actually, they used to worship the jinn (Shaytan); most of them were their human believers.
But today you do not hold for one another [the power of] benefit or harm, and We will say to those who wronged, “Taste the punishment of the Fire, which you used to deny”(42).
However, today (On Judgment Day) no humankind has benefit or harm to one another & We (SWT) Shall say those oppressive & unjust, “ Taste the chastisement of the Hellfire which you used to deny.
And when our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, they say, “This is not but a man who wishes to avert you from that which your fathers were worshipping.” And they say, “This is not except a lie invented.” And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, “This is not but obvious magic”(43).
And upon the Ayat of the Glorious Qur’an are recited by the Prophet of Islam Muhammad (SAAS) to the blasphemous disbelievers, they would respond by saying;” This is a fabricated & invented lie”.
And We had not given them any scriptures which they could study, and We had not sent to them before you, [O Muhammad], any warner (44).
And We (SWT) had not delivered to them any scriptures for them to study & comprehend. Nor had We (SWT) sent to them an omen.
And those before them denied, and the people of Makkah have not attained a tenth of what We had given them. But the former peoples denied My messengers, so how [terrible] was My reproach (45).
And those humankind before them reach a tenth of what We (SWT) provided for them. However, the earlier humankind repudiated the Messages of Allah (SWT) & hence how awful was the Reprimand of Allah (SWT) .
Say, “I only advise you of one [thing] – that you stand for Allah , [seeking truth] in pairs and individually, and then give thought.” There is not in your companion any madness. He is only a warner to you before a severe punishment (46)
Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS) to those Muslims who are following you, “I caution you to seek truth as in pairs or as individuals. subsequently grant thought, to “Your companion the Prophet of Islam Muhammad (SAAS) is not insane”. He (SAAS) is but a harbinger to you before an intense penalization reaches you.
Say, “Whatever payment I might have asked of you – it is yours. My payment is only from Allah , and He is, over all things, Witness”(47).
Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS) to those Muslims who are following you, “whatever recompense I might have asked you, then that is yours. My reward is only from Allah (SWT) & He (SWT) is Witness over all deeds & undertakings.
Say, “Indeed, my Lord projects the truth. Knower of the unseen”(48).
Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS) to those Muslims who are following you, verily, Allah (SWT) projects the Truth from the Glorious Qur’an & the Revelation. He (SWT) Is the Knowledgeable of the concealed & invisible.
Say, “The truth has come, and falsehood can neither begin [anything] nor repeat [it]”(49).
Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS) to those Muslims who are following you, “The truth has arrived being Islam & the Submission to Allah (SWT), & to the Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) & Falsehood cannot begin anything nor repeat it.
Say, “If I should err, I would only err against myself. But if I am guided, it is by what my Lord reveals to me. Indeed, He is Hearing and near”(50).
Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS) to those Muslims who are following you, “If I should transgress, I would only transgress against myself. However, if I am Guided, then it is by What Allah (SWT) Reveals to me. Truly, He (SWT) is the All Hearing & Ever Near.
And if you could see when they are terrified but there is no escape, and they will be seized from a place nearby (51).
And if when you could see death arriving to them or upon being exhumed from their graves there is no escape, and they will be seized from a nearby place.
And they will [then] say, “We believe in the Prophet of Islam!” But how for them will be the taking [of faith] from a place far away? (52).
And they will then say, “We believe in Prophet Muhammad (SAAS)”! However, how for them shall be the receiving of faith from a distant place.
And they had already disbelieved in it before and would assault the unseen from a place far away (53).
And the blasphemous disbelievers had already disbelieved in paradise, hellfire, resurrection & the invisible, assaulting the invisible from a distant place.
And prevention will be placed between them and what they desire, as was done with their kind before. Indeed, they were in disquieting denial (54).
And obstruction & hinderance was placed between them and what they are seeking, as was implemented with their type before them. Truly, they were in troubling denial.
