Surat Fatir

(Surah No. 35)

Ayat 1-45

35:1

[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, [who] made the angels messengers having wings, two or three or four. He increases in the creation of what He wills. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent (1).

All Praise & Supplication Belong to Allah (SWT), Creator of the Heavens & the Earth, Causing the Angles to become Messengers with wings, two, or three or four. He (SWT) Increases whatever He (SWT) Deems Necessary. Truly, Allah (SWT) Is Capable & Almighty over all His Creation.

35:2

Whatever Allah grants to people of mercy – none can withhold it; and whatever He withholds – none can release it thereafter. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise (2).

Whatsoever Allah (SWT) Grants humankind by way of grace & mercy, no one can withhold it; & whatever He (SWT) withholds no humankind is able to release it henceforth. And He (SWT) is the Honored & Glorified in Might & Wisdom.

35:3

O mankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides you from the heavens and earth? There is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded? (3).

Oh humankind, recall the favors of Allah (SWT) upon you. Is there an Instigator or Mastermind other than Allah (SWT) Providing humankind from the heavens & earth? There is no God or Deity other than Him (SWT), hence how is humankind mislead & deceived?

35:4

And if they deny you, [O Muhammad] – already were messengers denied before you. And to Allah are returned [all] matters (4).

And if , Oh Muhammad (SAAS) they reject & deny your Message [From Allah (SWT) through the Glorious Qur’an & Islam]. Then the blasphemous disbelievers had already denied Messengers previous to your Message & To Allah (SWT) Revert all matters & issues.

35:5

O mankind, indeed, the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver (5).

Oh humankind, truly, Allah (SWT)’s Promise Is Full & Absolute Truth. Thus, do not let the worldly lifetime deceive you and do not be deceived by Allah (SWT) by deception.

35:6

Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze (6).

Factually & truly, Al Shaytan is humankind’s enemy, thus take Al Shaytan as your enemy. He literally invites his corroboree & platoon to be amongst the companions of the inferno.

35:7

Those who disbelieve will have a severe punishment, and those who believe and do righteous deeds will have forgiveness and great reward (7).

Those who disbelieve shall have severe chastisement, and those who believe & who have performed righteous deeds shall receive forgiveness & enormous reward.

35:8

Then is one to whom the evil of his deed has been made attractive, so he considers it good [like one rightly guided]? For indeed, Allah sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. So do not let yourself perish over them in regret. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what they do (8).

Hence, is there humankind whom the evil of their deeds converted to an attractive act, so much so, that they consider them descent & correctly guided ? Truly, Allah (SWT) delivers astray whom He (SWT) Wills & Guides Whom He (SWT) Wills. Thus, Oh Muhammad (SAAS) let yourself not suffer over them regretfully. Verily, Allah (SWT) is Knowledgeable of what they perpetrate.

35:9

And it is Allah who sends the winds, and they stir the clouds, and We drive them to a dead land and give life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness. Thus is the resurrection (9).

And it is Allah (SWT) who sent the winds, thus stirring the clouds, and We (SWT) Drive them to a dead land to rejuvenate it, thus restoring its life after it had no life. Thus, is Resurrection.

36:10

And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them – they will not believe (10).

And whether you, Oh Muhammad (SAAS) were to warn the blasphemous disbelievers about Allah (SWT), the Glorious Qur’an & Islam, or do not warn them, they will not believe.

 36:11

You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So, give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward (11).

However, Oh Muhammad (SAAS) you are able only to warn those who fear Allah (SWT), the Most Merciful, hence give them glad tidings of forgiveness & noble reward.

And not alike are the two bodies of water. One is fresh and sweet, palatable for drinking, and one is salty and bitter. And from each you eat tender meat and extract ornaments which you wear, and you see the ships plowing through [them] that you might seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.

35:12

And not alike are the two bodies of water. One is fresh and sweet, palatable for drinking, and one is salty and bitter. And from each you eat tender meat and extract ornaments which you wear, and you see the ships plowing through [them] that you might seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful (12).

And dissimilar are the two bodies of water. One is fresh & sweet, scrumptious for human drinking while the other is salty & bitter. And from each body of water humankind eats tender tenuous meat extracting ornaments for human ornamental wear, and humankind observes the boats & ships plowing through seeking Allah (SWT)’s Bounties, so that humankind may be thankful.

35:13

He causes the night to enter the day, and He causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon – each running [its course] for a specified term. That is Allah , your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignty. And those whom you invoke other than Him do not possess [as much as] the membrane of a date seed (13).

Allah (SWT) Originates & Produces the night to enter the day, and He (SWT) causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon – each running [its orbit] for a specified term. That is Allah (SWT) to Him belongs Supremacy & Sovereignty. And those whom you invoke other than Allah (SWT) do not possess [as much as] the membrane of a date seed (Qitmeer).

35:14

If you invoke them, they do not hear your supplication; and if they heard, they would not respond to you. And on the Day of Resurrection they will deny your association. And none can inform you like [one] Acquainted [with all matters] (14).

When calling upon them, they fail to hear your supplication; & if they heard it they would not respond to you. And on Resurrection Day they shall repudiate your association. And no power or entity is able to inform humankind with all that they encounter except the One & Only Creator, Allah (SWT).

35:15

O mankind, you are those in need of Allah , while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy (15).

Oh humankind, you are the creation in total need of Allah (SWT), while He (SWT) is Free & Independent of  humankinds needs The Benign, The Praiseworthy.

35:16

If He wills, He can do away with you and bring forth a new creation (16).

If Allah (SWT) Wishes, He (SWT) Can Eliminate humankind & come up with a new creation.

35:17

And that is for Allah not difficult (17).

And such new Creation for Allah (SWT) is neither hard nor strenuous.

35:18

And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And if a heavily laden soul calls [another] to [carry some of] its load, nothing of it will be carried, even if he should be a close relative. You can only warn those who fear their Lord unseen and have established prayer. And whoever purifies himself only purifies himself for [the benefit of] his soul. And to Allah is the [final] destination (18).

And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another (whether male or female). And if a heavily laden soul calls [another] to [carry some of] its load, nothing of it will be carried, even if he/she should be a close relative. A Believer can only warn those who fear Allah (SWT) Unseen and have established prayer. And whosoever Purifies himself/herself only purifies himself/herself for [the benefit of] his/her soul. And to Allah (SWT) is the Ultimate Destination.

35:19

Not equal are the blind and the seeing (19).

And the blind humankind are unlike those with vision.

35:20

Nor are the darknesses and the light (20).

Nor are the darknesses & the light.

35:21

Nor are the shade and the heat (21).

Nor are the shade & the heat.

35:22

And not equal are the living and the dead. Indeed, Allah causes to hear whom He wills, but you cannot make hear those in the graves (22).

And the living creation & the dead creation are unequal. Truly, Allah (SWT) chooses to hear from whom He (SWT) Desires, and You Muhammad (SAAS) are unable to make those in their graves hear your call to them.

35:23

You, [O Muhammad], are not but a warner (23).

You , Oh Muhammad (SAAS) are not but a messenger & omen.

35:24

Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And there was no nation but that there had passed within it a warner (24).

Truly, We (SWT) have Delivered you, Oh Muhammad (SAAS) in truth as a bringer of glad tidings & as a warner.

35:25

And if they deny you – then already have those before them denied. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs and written ordinances and with the enlightening Scripture (25).

And if , Oh Muhammad (SAAS) the deny (dismiss & reject) your Message, then they already have rejected & dismissed their messengers who came to them with Clear Proofs, Written & Ordinances plus Enlightening Scriptures.

35:26

Then I seized the ones who disbelieved, and how [terrible] was My reproach (26).

I (SWT) thus seized hold of those who were blasphemous disbelievers & how terrifying was My Reprimand !!

35:27

Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby fruits of varying colors? And in the mountains are tracts, white and red of varying shades and [some] extremely black (27).

Do you Oh Muhammad (SAAS) not observe that Allah (SWT) delivers rain from the skies, from which We (SWT) thereby produce fruits of differing colors? And on the mountains are tracts, white, red & of varying shades with some extremely dark black color.

35:28

And among people and moving creatures and grazing livestock are various colors similarly. Only those fear Allah , from among His servants, who have knowledge. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Forgiving (28).

And amongst humankind are grazing livestock, various moving creatures all having various colors. Evidently, it is only amongst Allah (SWT)’s Human Creation who Fear & Submit to His Grace & Mercy. Truly, Allah (SWT) is Exalted in Might & Forgiveness.

35:29

Indeed, those who recite the Book of Allah and establish prayer and spend [in His cause] out of what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, [can] expect a profit that will never perish  (29)-

In actual fact, those who recite the Glorious Qur’an [the Muslim Book of Allah (SWT)], establish five-time daily prayers, expend in the cause of Allah (SWT) from His Provisions confidentially & openly, should anticipate an everlasting commercial interaction.

 35:30

That He may give them in full their rewards and increase for them of His bounty. Indeed, He is Forgiving and Appreciative (30).

That Allah (SWT) May Grant Practicing Muslims their full rewards, increasing for them from His Bounty (SWT). Verily, He (SWT) is Forgiving & Thankful.

35:31

And that which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], of the Book is the truth, confirming what was before it. Indeed, Allah , of His servants, is Acquainted and Seeing  (31).

And that which We (SWT) Have Revealed to you, Oh Muhammad (SAAS) of the Glorious Qur’an is the truth, confirming what was revealed before it from previous scriptures. Truly, Allah (SWT) is Acquainted & Visionary of His worshippers.

35:32

Then we caused to inherit the Book those We have chosen of Our servants; and among them is he who wrongs himself, and among them is he who is moderate, and among them is he who is foremost in good deeds by permission of Allah . That [inheritance] is what is the great bounty (32).

Subsequently, We (SWT) delivered & inherited the Glorious Qur’an to you, Oh Muhammad (SAAS) which is Universally Inclusive of all previous scriptures before it.  And the Muslims including the Companions of Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) who followed his direction & guidance, thus becoming an “Average Paradigm Model” Nation. Henceforth, Allah (SWT) Groups the Muslims into three categories: he/she who wrong themselves; he/she who are moderate in their living & he/she who are foremost in performing righteous deeds by SWT’s Permission. That legacy is the magnificent Bounty form Allah (SWT).

35:33

[For them are] gardens of perpetual residence which they will enter. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments therein will be silk (33).

For those mentioned in the previous (Ayah 32), are Gardens of  Eden to which they shall enter in the Hereafter. Only to be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments therein will be silk.

35:34

And they will say, “Praise to Allah , who has removed from us [all] sorrow. Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving and Appreciative (34).

And the Muslim Believers in Allah (SWT), followers of Muhammad (SAAS) & Believers in the Glorious Qur’an, shall say “ Praise Be To Allah (SWT)” Who Has Obliterated  from Us All Sorrow & Sadness. Truly, Allah (SWT) is  Forgiving, Obliging & Grateful.

35:35

He who has settled us in the home of duration out of His bounty. There touches us not in it any fatigue, and there touches us not in it weariness [of mind]”(35).

He (SWT) Who Has Settled humankind in the home of duration out of His (SWT)’s Generosity & Endowment. No fatigue or boredom of mind touches us. 35:36

And for those who disbelieve will be the fire of Hell. [Death] is not decreed for them so they may die, nor will its torment be lightened for them. Thus do we compensate for every ungrateful one (36).

And for those disbelievers in Allah (SWT) will be Hell Fire. They shall not be eliminated through death, nor will its torment be made easier for them. Hence, do We (SWT) Reward every blasphemous disbeliever.

  35:37

And they will cry out therein, “Our Lord, remove us; we will do righteousness – other than what we were doing!” But did We not grant your life enough for whoever would remember therein to remember, and the warner had come to you? So taste [the punishment], for there is not for the wrongdoers any helper (37).

And the blasphemous disbeliever shall cry out loud in the Hell Fire: “Oh Allah (SWT) evict & eject us”; we will perpetrate righteous deeds other than what we were doing before. “(SWT), In Response, However, Did We Not Grant your life enough time for whoever of humankind would remember, and the Omen had arrived to you? Hence, taste the “torment”, since there is no assistance for those who are transgressors.

35:38

Indeed, Allah is Knower of the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and earth. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts (38).

Truly & unquestionably, Allah (SWT) Is Knowledgeable of the Insisivble Creation of the Heavens & the Earth. Indeed, He (SWT) is Also Knowledgeable of what humankind chests contain & divulge.

35:39

It is He who has made you successors upon the earth. And whoever disbelieves – upon him will be [the consequence of] his disbelief. And the disbelief of the disbelievers does not increase them in the sight of their Lord except in hatred; and the disbelief of the disbelievers does not increase them except in loss (39).

It is Allah (SWT) Who Has Made humankind successors upon the face of the earth. And whosoever disbelieves, then responsibility of his/her disbelief  lies upon them. Blasphemous disbeliever’s disbelief  in Allah (SWT) does not augment them but in loss & damage.

35:40

Say, “Have you considered your ‘partners’ whom you invoke besides Allah ? Show me what they have created from the earth, or have they partnership [with Him] in the heavens? Or have We given them a book, so they are [standing] on evidence therefrom? [No], rather, the wrongdoers do not promise each other except delusion”(40).

Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS), “ Have you pondered or investigated your ‘partners’ whom you implore other than Allah (SWT)? Display for me your Prophet & Messenger, what they have fabricated from the earth, or do they possess partnership With Him (SWT) in the Heavens? Or have We (SWT) Granted them a scripture or sacred text from which they extract evidence from ? No way, rather, the transgressors do not promise each other except illusion & deception.

35:41

Indeed, Allah holds the heavens and the earth, lest they cease. And if they should cease, no one could hold them [in place] after Him. Indeed, He is Forbearing and Forgiving (41).

Factually & Truly, Allah (SWT) Holds the Heavens & Earth, & lest they come to a standstill. And if both Heavens & Earth should cease to Exist, no Creator Other than Allah (SWT) Could Hold Both in their Original Place. Factually & Truly, He (SWT) Is Forbearing & Forgiving.

35:42

And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths that if a warner came to them, they would be more guided than [any] one of the [previous] nations. But when a warner came to them, it did not increase them except in aversion (42).

And the blasphemous disbelievers swore by Allah (SWT) their utmost oaths that if an omen arrive to them, they would be more “guided” than former or previous generations. However, once an omen arrived to them, it did not increase them except reluctance  & antipathy.

35:43

[Due to] arrogance in the land and plotting of evil; but the evil plot does not encompass except its own people. Then do they await except the way of the former peoples? But you will never find in the way of Allah any change, and you will never find in the way of Allah any alteration (43).

Because of insolence & haughtiness & plotting evil in the land. However, evil plotting does not encompass except its own evil people. Hence, do they anticipate the way of the previous Muslim generations? However, Oh Muhammad (SAAS) you  shall never find any change in the Way of Allah (SWT), neither will you find in the Way of Allah (SWT) any variation.

35:44

Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? And they were greater than them in power. But Allah is not to be caused failure by anything in the heavens or on the earth. Indeed, He is ever Knowing and Competent.

Have the blasphemous disbelievers not roamed through the earth observing how was the termination of those before them (being greater in power & strength) ? However, Allah (SWT) shall not be “failed” in the Heavens & On The Earth.  Truly, Allah (SWT) Is Ever Knowledgeable & Resilient.

35:45

And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for what they have earned, He would not leave upon the earth any creature. But He defers them for a specified term. And when their time comes, then indeed Allah has ever been, of His servants, Seeing (45).

And if Allah (SWT) were to Impose on humankind reprimand for what they had earned in their worldly lifetime, He (SWT) would not spare any creature. However, He (SWT) postpones them for a prescribed term. And once their time arrives for reckoning, then indeed Allah (SWT) Has Ever Been Observant of His (SWT)’s servants.
