Surat Ya – Sin
(Surah No. 36)
Ayat 1-83
Ya, Seen (1).
[These letters are one of the miracles of the Glorious Quran, and none but Allah (SWT) knows their meanings].
The Wise Qur’an (2).
The Disambiuous Qur’an.
Indeed you, [O Muhammad], are amongst the messengers (3),
Truly Oh Muhammad (SAAS), You are the Last Prophet & Messenger of Islam.
On a straight path (4).
On an undeviating linear upright conformist path.
[This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful (5),
This Glorious Qur’an is the Revelation of the Al Mighty Allah (SWT).
That you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware (6).
So that you Oh Muhammad (SAAS) could warn humankind whose ancestors were not warned hence they were ignorant & oblivious.
Already the word has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe (7).
Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft (8).
We (SWT) Placed handcuffs on their necks up to their chins, thus their heads kept buoyed up.
And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see (9).
And We (SWT) Placed an impediment before them & an impediment behind them, covering them hence they are blinded.
And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them – they will not believe (10).
And it is equally the same for them, if you [Oh Muhammad (SAAS) warn them or not – they will stay disbelievers.
You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward (11).
You Oh Muhammad (SAAS), are able to warn humankind who Believe in Allah (SWT), in the Glorious Qur’an & in Islam, [Fearing the Most Merciful (Undetectable & Invisible)]. Thus give them glad tidings of forgiveness & honorable recompense.
Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register (12).
Evidently & truly, We (SWT) Shall Return the dead humankind to life (in the Hereafter), to Register what each has perpetrated & what each humankind left behind. We (SWT) Particularized everything into a clear Unequivocal Register.
And [the tribe of] Thamud and the people of Lot and the companions of the thicket. Those are the companies (13).
And the Thamud tribe, the Lot people & the companions of thicket (Inhabitants of the tree tops). These are the confederates. 
Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified (14).
Each of those disbelievers repudiated & contradicted the Messengers, hence, Allah (SWT)’s Punishment was forthcoming.
They said, “You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies”(15).
The blasphemous disbelievers went on to say, “ You are only humankind like us, & the Most Merciful Allah (SWT) has not divulged & unveiled a thing. You are only telling falsehood.” 
They said, “Our Lord knows that we are messengers to you (16),
They Responded Saying: “Allah (SWT) is knowledgeable & aware that we are messengers to you”.
And we are not responsible except for clear notification”(17)
And We (SWT) are not responsible except for expressive declaration.
They said, “Indeed, we consider you a bad omen. If you do not desist, we will surely stone you, and there will surely touch you, from us, a painful punishment”(18).
They responded by saying,” Truly, we believe you to be a bad foreteller. If you do not refrain, we will certainly stone you, and you shall get from us untold chastisement.
They said, “Your omen is with yourselves. Is it because you were reminded? Rather, you are a transgressing people”(19).
They responded by saying,” Truly, Your Bad foreteller is amongst you. Was it because you were exhilarated? Actually, you are a trespassing people.
And there came from the farthest end of the city a man, running. He said, “O my people, follow the messengers (20).
And a running man arrived from the farthest end of the city, saying, Oh my people, pursue the Messengers [Dispatched by Allah (SWT)].
Follow those who do not ask of you [any] payment, and they are [rightly] guided (21).
Follow those Muslims who do not ask from you any remuneration and who are justly guided by Islam.
And why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned? (22).
And why would & should I not Submit To Allah (SWT) Who Created all humankind & to Him (SWT) all Creation shall be returned.
Should I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me? (23).
Must I take other than Allah (SWT) false idols? If the Most Merciful (SWT) intends to distress me, then their mediocrity will not benefit me whatsoever, nor can they save me.
Indeed, I would then be in manifest error (24).
Surely then, I would be in apparent & manifest error. 
Indeed, I believed in your Lord, so listen to me (25).
Factually & truly, I Believed in Allah (SWT), hence listen to me.
It was said, “Enter Paradise.” He said, “I wish my people could know (26).
The Angles upon the Command of Allah (SWT) told him to enter Al Jannah. He said, “I wish my people are able to know” !
Of how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored”(27).
Of how Allah (SWT) Has Forgiven me, Placing me Amongst the Honored”.
And We did not send down upon his people after him any soldiers from the heaven, nor would We have done so (28).
And We (SWT) did not deliver to his people after him any soldiers from the Heavens, nor would We (SWT) Have done so,
It was not but one shout, and immediately they were extinguished (29).
It was only but one shout from Angel Gabriel and all were abolished.
How regretful for the servants. There did not come to them any messenger except that they used to ridicule him (30).
How remorseful for the Servants of Allah (SWT), no messenger arrived to them without being mocked.
Have they not considered how many generations We destroyed before them – that they to them will not return? (31).
Have they not contemplated as to how many generations We (SWT) obliterated before, that they to them shall not go back.
And indeed, all of them will yet be brought present before Us (32).
And verily, all of them shall hereafter be brought present before Us (SWT).
And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat (33).
And Ayah for them is the dead earth Which We (SWT) Resurrected & Brought Back To Life. Thence We (SWT) extracted grain from which humankind & all other living creatures eat.
And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs (34)-
And We (SWT) instituted therein gardens of palm trees & grapevines, causing to burst therefrom water springs.
Exalted is He who created all pairs – from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know (36).
Honored & Glorified Is He (SWT) Who Created All Living Pairs, from the earth growing & from themselves & from that which they are unaware of.
And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness (37).
And an Ayah for humankind that Allah (SWT) is the Sole Creator of the Heavens & Earth as well as All Creation in between. He (SWT) Causes daylight to fade away only for creation to remain in darkness.
And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing (38).
And the sun travels its orbit towards its cessation position “Under the Throne of Allah (SWT)”. That is the Judgment & Ruling of the Exalted in Might, The Omni Knowledgeable, Allah (SWT).
And the moon – We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk (39).
And the moon, We (SWT) Have Determined & Resolved for its phases, until it reverts to its original position appearing similar to its “old date stalk”.
It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming (40).
With the Command, Decree & Schedule of Allah (SWT), the sun shall not reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day. However, each planet is orbiting in its trajectory.
And a sign for them is that We carried their forefathers in a laden ship (41).
And an Ayah for them, that We (SWT) Conveyed their forefathers in an overloaded floating ship
And We created for them from the likes of it that which they ride (42).
And We (SWT) Created for them a ship similar to the barge that they ride at sea.
And if We should, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved (43).
And if We (SWT) Willed, We Would Drown them all; hence no cry emanates from them, nor would they be extricated.
Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time (44).
Excluding Mercy from Us (SWT) & sustenance for a while.
But when it is said to them, “Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy… “(45).
However, upon being told, “Beware of is within your hands & what lies behind you; maybe you’ll receive the Mercy of Allah (SWT).
And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away (46).
And no Ayah arrives to them from the Ayat of Allah (SWT), but that from which they were turning their backs to. 
And when it is said to them, “Spend from that which Allah has provided for you,” those who disbelieve say to those who believe, “Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error”(47).
And upon being Commanded by Allah (SWT) to “Spend from the Provisions which Allah (SWT) Has Provided”, “the disbelievers say to the believers, Do we feed those whom Allah (SWT) Had Willed, He (SWT) Would Have fed? You evidently are in obvious error.
And they say, “When is this promise, if you should be truthful?”(48).
And in a sarcastic & ironic questioning way, the disbelievers would say “When is this promise to be fulfilled, if you are honest?” 
They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing (49).
They do not await except One Blast “Angel Israfil (First Blast)” into the SOOR of the HEREAFTER) which shall seize them while they are in conflict,
And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return (50).
In the Imam Shawkani Exegesis under this Ayah, Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) describes those on that day in the Hereafter unable to be repentant & stop offending other Muslims, neither are they qualified & competent to return to their homes & people. 
And the Horn was blown; and at once from the graves to their Lord they will hasten (51).
And the Horn of the Hereafter Is Finally Blown & all humankind shall hasten to exit immediately from their graves to Submit to the One & Only Allah (SWT).
They will say, “O woe to us! Who has raised us up from our sleeping place?” [The reply will be], “This is what the Most Merciful had promised, and the messengers told the truth”(52).
They shall ultimately say, “ Oh distress & despondence to us ! Who has awakened us from our sleeping position? (The Response from the Angels will be): “ This is what Allah (SWT) [Most Merciful had Promised, & the Messengers Ratified”].
It will not be but one blast, and at once they are all brought present before Us (53).
They do not await except One Blast [“Angel Israfil (SECOND & FINAL BLAST)” into the SOOR of the HEREAFTER)] which shall seize them while they are in conflict
So today no soul will be wronged at all, and you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do (54)
Hence, no human soul shall be unjustly treated on Judgment Day, nor will it be deluded, apart from what it had perpetrated in its worldly lifetime.
Indeed the companions of Paradise, that Day, will be amused in [joyful] occupation (55)-
Truly, the compatriots of Al Jannah that Day will be amused in Zestful Occupation.
They and their spouses – in shade, reclining on adorned couches (56).
On Judgment Day, they & their spouses will be inside shades, reclining on decorated couches. 
For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish] (57).
For the occupants of Al Jannat, is fruits as well as whatever they request or wish. 
[And] “Peace,” a word from a Merciful Lord (58).
The word of “Peace” is Uttered By Allah (SWT) The Merciful.
[Then He will say], “But stand apart today, you criminals (59).
Allah (SWT) Shall Call Upon the criminals to separate & Stand Apart.
Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy (60).
This is a Command from Allah (SWT) to Humankind not to worship Al Shaitan since he is your absolute & ultimate enemy.
And that you worship [only] Me? This is a straight path (61).
And that all humankind should ultimately & exclusively Worship Allah (SWT) This is a straightforward & direct path.
And he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason? (62).
And Al Shaytan had already caused much humankind to go astray; hence did you not use reason.
This is the Hellfire which you were promised (63).
Allah (SWT) Commanded humankind who were led astray by Al Shaytan, “This is the Hellfire which you were pledged & guaranteed.
Enter to burn therein today for what you used to deny (64).
Plunge into the Hellfire today for what you humankind used to deny & disbelieve.
That Day, We will seal over their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify about what they used to earn (65).
Today, (In the Hereafter) We (SWT) Shall seal their mouths, and their hands will speak To Us (SWT) instead. And their feet will witness about what they used to perpetrate.
And if We willed, We could have obliterated their eyes, and they would race to [find] the path, and how could they see? (66).
And if We (SWT) Wished, We would Have Removed their eyes & they would contest to searching for the path & how will they be able to observe.
And if We willed, We could have deformed them, [paralyzing them] in their places so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return (67).
And Had We (SWT) Wished, We would have disfigured them, paralyzing them in their positions, such that they were unable to proceed neither could they return.
And he to whom We grant long life We reverse in creation; so will they not understand? (68).
And to whom from humankind We (SWT) Grant extended lifetime, We Shall Reverse in creation, thus they will not be able to comprehend. 
And We did not give Prophet Muhammad, knowledge of poetry, nor is it befitting for him. It is not but a message and a clear Qur’an (69).
And We (SWT) Did Not Grant Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) “Rhythmical Composition”, nor is it befitting for him. However, it is a Message From the Glorious Qur’an Revealed to Him By Allah (SWT). 
To warn whoever is alive and justify the word against the disbelievers (70).
The Glorious Qur’an Revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) is to Warn humankind & Justify the speech against the blasphemous disbelievers.
Do they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners?
Are the blasphemous disbelievers unaware that We (SWT) Have Created for them from what Our Hands have made, to which they become owners.
And We have tamed them for them, so some of them they ride, and some of them they eat (72).
And We (SWT) Have Created & Tamed for them four-legged animals for transportation & for consumption.
And for them therein are [other] benefits and drinks, so will they not be grateful? (73).
And for the blasphemous disbelievers therein are supplementary benefits & drinks, hence will they not be grateful & appreciative ? 
But they have taken besides Allah [false] deities that perhaps they would be helped (74).
However, they have accepted other than Allah (SWT) deities & false gods, maybe they would helped by them.
They are not able to help them, and they [themselves] are for them soldiers in attendance (75).
These deities & idols are unable to help the blasphemous disbelievers, and they (the blasphemous disbelievers) are for the idols attending soldiers.
So let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they declare (76).
Thus, let their speech Oh Muhammad (SAAS) not grieve you. As a matter of fact, We (SWT) are aware of what they hide & what they divulge.
Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop – then at once he is a clear adversary? (77).
Does humankind not realize that We (SWT) Created them from just a bare sperm-drop, then they immediately become clear antagonistic opponents.
And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, “Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?” (78).
And humankind display for Allah (SWT) an example & forgetting their own Creation. Humankind says, “Who shall Grant life to disintegrated bones?”.
Say, “He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing” (79).
Say Oh Muhammad (SAAS), “ Allah (SWT) Shall Give them life, As He (SWT) Created them the first time, He (SWT) Is Knowledgeable of All His Creation.
[It is] He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite (80).
He is Allah (SWT) who facilitated for humankind, fire from the green tree from which you ignite.
Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator (81).
Is it not Allah (SWT) Who Created the heavens & earth, Capable of Creating Similar orbital motions? Affirmatively so, and He (SWT) Is the Knowledgeable Creator. 
His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, “Be,” and it is (82).
It Is Upon His Command (SWT) that when He Intends anything, He (SWT) Will Say to it, “Become” & It Will Occur. 
So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned (83).
Hence, Supreme & Exalted Is Allah (SWT) In Whose Hands Belongs the Realm of All Creation & to Whom humankind Shall Be Returned.
